Made on a Mac

The greatest thrill of being at the School was learning how to draw, properly! I had only started 'art' in matric and therefore did not have any experience in training my eye. I only painted during my school Art periods. I guess, other than Margie Shultz' art classes, I had no formal training besides Leith and my now 6year Web Design freelancing.

Leith School of Art is situated near the docks of Leith in Edinburgh, it is a small, very established place of schooling. Leith has 5 main art teachers who with varied skill alllow your development as a artist. My tutor was Colin, an English gentleman from Musselburgh. Colin really helped me develop my eye and creativity. With his scope and forethought, my ideas and infancy, he was able to lead me into my future..

I thank Leith for my early days! And for the experience I gained there. My most memorable but sad experience at Leith was our final exhibition. I had done a series of drawings in Limpopo on holiday, which I turned into an Childrens African Story book. At the exhibition I sold all of my art including my best Iona cuttings.. Fortunately I was able to photograph the work.

Thank you Leith!
